The representative of the Department of Public Security of the Organization of American States (OAS), Pier Angelli de Luca, assured that the program “De Vuelta al Barrio” developed by the Ministry of Interior and Police, is of utmost importance because it prevents violence and promotes a culture of peace in the Dominican Republic.
He said that it contributes to the development of the countries, for which he congratulated the Government and Minister Jesús Vásquez Martínez, for the work in favor of citizen security.
In turn, the manager of the Assistance Program for the Control of Arms and Ammunition (Pacam) said that the OAS Department of Security is willing to collaborate and strengthen this plan, so that its radius of action is even more comprehensive and its results increase.
Meanwhile, Vásquez Martínez thanked the visit of the official, who was accompanied by Carlos Orozco, regional coordinator of Pacam, to whom she explained the objectives of the programs implemented within the Citizen Security Strategy “My Safe Country”, such as “Leaders Mediators of Conflicts” and “Back to the Neighborhood”.
The meeting was attended by the Vice Minister of Arms and Ammunition, Anibal Amparo, and the Director of Arms, Sterling Perez.
