Pension Superintendence impacts 1 million in education

With the aim of promoting the understanding and participation of the population in the Dominican Pension System, in the first three months of the launching of the educational plan of the Superintendency of Pensions, it has had a reach and impact on nearly one million people and has reached both public and private institutions, as well as society in general, through face-to-face and digital channels, explained Francisco A. Torres, Superintendent of Pensions.

He informed that one of the first actions of the educational plan was the presentation of the Conocetufuturo.do platform where people can learn about their current situation in relation to their retirement savings and the possibilities for its improvement. This platform was activated in person at the Sambil and Galería 360 shopping malls.

For these activations, a squad of social network influencers was used, who achieved more than one million impressions and covered the different age groups and profiles. In addition, a billboard circuit was placed in the city of Santo Domingo and Santiago encouraging people to enter the conocetufuturo.do platform.

Educational and Awareness Initiatives

Among the training activities, the Superintendency of Pensions and the Universidad del Caribe (Unicaribe) are offering a free diploma course on the Dominican Pension System, while the Superintendency is sponsoring a diploma course in Economic and Financial Journalism in association with the Universidad Católica Santo Domingo (UCSD), aimed at journalists and communication students.

Likewise, the first specialty in Pension Plans and Funds, which is being carried out jointly with the Universidad Unapec, is now part of the national scholarships offered by Education Pensionsthe Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mescyt).

On the other hand, he highlighted that, in the first quarter, the Superintendence of Pensions has carried out more than seven trainings with relevant information on pensions, offered in different public and private institutions, among them: National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (Indhri), El Nuevo Diario newspaper, Institute of Public Administration (Inap), Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mescyt) and the Technological University of Eastern Cibao (Uteco).

Another of the initiatives that attracted the attention of the Z generation was the presence of the Superintendence of Pensions in the recent edition of the “Isle of Light” festival, with the aim of promoting awareness of the importance of financial planning for retirement from the beginning of their working life.

The Superintendency of Pensions will also be part of the tenth edition of the Central Bank’s Economic and Financial Week, whose mission is to promote the culture of savings and financial aspects in children and young people from primary school to university level.

The main goal of the Superintendency of Pensions is to make citizens aware of how they can change the outlook of their future pension and to eliminate the existing misinformation about the Dominican Pension System. This is why it ratifies its commitment to continue expanding the scope of this educational plan.
