President Abinader inaugurates four roads and a hospital in Santiago

President Luis Abinader inaugurated today in this province four highways and a hospital.

The works seek to continue contributing to the development of Santiago and its population, thus achieving the modernity and progress of the province, its municipalities, municipal districts and places.

San José de las Matas now has its hospital

The head of state inaugurated the modern Municipal Hospital of San José de Las Matas, benefiting thousands of residents who will no longer have to travel to the city of Santiago to receive medical attention.

In inaugurating this health center, President Luis Abinader stressed that this strategic investment, aims to provide quality medical care to the residents of San José de las Matas, eliminating the need to travel to Santiago for emergencies or permanent treatments.

“It is an investment that this municipality deserves. In terms of extension it is one of the largest in the country and also a municipality of hard-working people, of good and hard-working people.”

He underscored the government’s continued commitment to providing the best health services.

“For that they have a government that is supporting them and will continue to support them so that they have the best services here.”

In addition, he urged the community to take care of the facilities, recalling that they are built with public funds and tax contributions from residents.

He highlighted the creation of a local volunteer program to strengthen the community’s commitment to the care and maintenance of the hospital.

The Minister of Housing and Buildings, Carlos Bonilla, affirmed that many more advances in hospital matters are on the horizon, “day by day we work to fulfill our word and our mission to deliver decent health spaces, where people can receive quality care, and that starts with a quality infrastructure”.

The work had an investment of more than DR 1,253 million and will have emergency, hospitalization, imaging, immunization, laboratory and pharmacy areas.

Likewise, patients will be able to count on an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), general services, pathological anatomy, as well as integral health, surgical and tuberculosis units.

Several road works in San José de las Matas

With an investment of more than DR 1.4 billion, the President led the inauguration of four road works for the benefit of the residents of La Cuesta, Jánico and Santiago de los Caballeros.

The works include the reconstruction of the internal streets of La Cuesta, with a length of 11 km; the reconstruction of internal streets of the municipality of Jánico, covering 5 km; the reconstruction of the Santiago de los Caballeros-Sajoma road, with 8 km and the reconstruction of the Sajoma Pedregal road, together with the internal streets of 3 Cruces and La Mejía, totaling 7 km.

The governor was accompanied in the inaugurations by the senator for the province of Santiago, Eduardo Estrella; the Minister of Health, Daniel Rivera; the regional directors of the SNS, Manuel Lora Perelló; of the San José de las Matas General Hospital, Miguel Martínez, and of Coraasan, Andrés Burgos.

Also, the general manager of Edenorte, Andrés Cueto; the administrator of Egehid, Rafael Salazar; the governor of Santiago, Rosa Santos; the mayors of Sajoma, Ramón Alfredo Reyes; of La Cuesta, Eddy Rivas and of Jánico, Hilario Fernández.
