President Abinader inaugurates Sabana Iglesia Community and Recreation Center

President Luis Abinader inaugurated the Sabana Iglesia Community and Recreational Center, which will increase participation in socio-cultural activities in this municipality.

The work had an investment of more than DR 18 million and consists of an area of 1,773.12 m2 of intervention.

In a brief speech, President Abinader called for the care of the community center and the creation of a volunteer corps for the work.

He affirmed that this government is determined that the resources of the State satisfy every municipality and province of the country.

He also announced that the Sabana Iglesia-Baitoa aqueduct will be ready for next year.

Ángel de la Cruz, president of the Provincial Development Commission, said that this work had been demanded for more than 25 years.

He considered that this is a government of achievements, which manages the funds with efficiency and honesty.

This Community and Recreational Center will benefit some 1,700 inhabitants, who are concentrated in the area of influence of the project.

The construction consists of gray non-slip flooring in the bathroom area, everdoor doors, white lacquered aluminum windows, sanitary installations, electrical installations, and roof finishing.

In addition, it has an 8,000 gallon cistern, pump house, 144.36 linear meters of perimeter fence, sidewalk, curbs, planters, a bar and a children’s area with different games.

Lunch at the fortress

Another of the activities that the Chief of State carried out was a Christmas lunch at the General Fernando Valerio Fortress.

There he had a pleasant time with the high commanders and enlisted men, with whom he also talked about various topics.

The governor was accompanied in the inaugurations by the senator for the province of Santiago, Eduardo Estrella; the Minister of Health, Daniel Rivera; the regional directors of the SNS, Manuel Lora Perelló; of the San José de las Matas General Hospital, Miguel Martínez, and of Coraasan, Andrés Burgos.

Also, the general manager of Edenorte, Andrés Cueto; the administrator of Egehid, Rafael Salazar; the governor of Santiago, Rosa Santos; the mayors of Sajoma, Ramón Alfredo Reyes; of La Cuesta, Eddy Rivas and of Jánico, Hilario Fernández.
