President Luis Abinader assured in this city that currently the Dominican Republic “is an oasis of democracy and institutionality in the entire region”, since it has a government that listens and does not have to be convinced of anything.
He said he was convinced that in order to develop the country socially and economically “we also need to develop our institutions as we are doing”.
He supported his assertion that years ago to “elect the Central Electoral Board (JCE) and the institutional bodies it was all a crisis and there had to be mediation, but not anymore because this is a government that does not have to be convinced of anything”.

He emphasized that those elected to these organizations have been apolitical and non-partisan people. “Today the Dominican Republic is an oasis of democracy and institutionality in the entire region and this is our commitment and we will continue this way”, affirmed the President.
He valued as positive the transparent development of the institutions. The declarations of the head of state were made during one of the meetings he has held with representatives of the diaspora, as part of the official agenda during his visit to New York.
