Asonahores rates having reached 10 million visitors

The Association of Hotels and Tourism of the DR (Asonahores) highlighted the efforts made by the tourism industry, in conjunction with the Ministry of Tourism, to promote the local offer and achieve an increase in the arrival of visitors from different destinations, closing 2023 with more than 10 million.

David Llibre, president of Asonahores, highlighted the investments made by the private sector and the joint work of the Tourism Cabinet, headed by Minister David Collado, which has made it possible to achieve “an extraordinary success” in these years.

“From Asonahores we value the integration of all the actors of the national tourism sector, who have contributed to the strengthening of our industry, increasing the arrival of tourists and collaborating with the growth of the national economy,” Llibre said in a press release.

Multiplier effect on the economy

Llibre pointed out that every 100 tourists generate 12 jobs in the tourism sector, so reaching this figure represents a multiplier effect in the productive chain of the Dominican economy.

He expressed that Asonahores applauds the results obtained in 2023 by the tourism industry and that they will continue to strengthen and support the strategies of the Ministry of Tourism, which reaffirm the DR as the “leading destination in the region”.

Asonahores ratified its commitment to promote the sustainable development of tourism in the country and to continue promoting excellence in the services offered by hotels and tourism establishments, while maintaining human quality.
