Hyatt appoints Gonzalo del Peón as executive advisor

As previously announced, Gonzalo del Peón will leave his position as President of Inclusive Collection Hyatt Americas & Global Commercial to become Senior Advisor of Hyatt Hotel Corporation.

Del Peón, who is co-founder of the chain that was born as AMResorts and until recently served as president of Inclusive Collection, now becomes Senior Advisor of Hyatt Hotel Corporation, where he played a decisive role in the transformation of the company to become one of the leading All Inclusive hotel chains in the world.

With more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, he oversaw all areas of investor and owner relations, operations, management, marketing and product innovation for the former company’s hotels.

Since 2001, when AMResorts began operations, Del Peon was part of the executive team, and together with Alex Zozaya, was able to define and consolidate the vision of a business model and organizational structure for all-inclusive hotels, which resulted in the company’s rapid positioning as the fastest growing luxury resort leader in North America.

To date, the company has 10 brands and 121 hotels with just over 39,000 rooms in 12 countries in the Caribbean, Mexico and Mediterranean Europe. In Mexico and the Caribbean, the company has 6 brands, 65 hotels and 22 thousand rooms in 9 countries, with more than 35 thousand employees.

In Europe it has 4 brands with 46 hotels and almost 13 thousand rooms in 3 countries and 12 different tourist destinations.

During the year-end event held by Inclusive Collection, part of World of Hyatt, Gonzalo del Peón, in addition to introducing the entire team, presented Gabriel Felip to the country’s tourism industry, who will soon take charge of Hyatt in Latin America and the Caribbean.
