Politur reinforces security in Puerto Plata with new fleet

The Tourist Police (Politur) delivered a new fleet of vehicles to its staff in Puerto Plata, to continue reinforcing surveillance and patrolling in this important tourist area of the country.

The meeting was headed by the director of Politur, Minoru Matsunaga, who delivered 3 vans, 6 Four Wheels and an equal number of motorcycles to redouble the patrolling work.

“These vehicles that we deliver today in Puerto Plata are part of the Plan for the Strengthening and Reform of the Tourist Police to continue offering a safe destination to Dominicans and foreigners,” he said.

In this sense, Anicasio Guillén Guzmán, inspector of the Northern Regional Politur, explained that with the new vehicles, new security corridors will be established in the Politur Puerto Platatourist areas of Puerto Plata, Sosúa, Cabarete, Luperón and Villa Isabela.

The activity was attended by the provincial governor Claritza Rochtte Peralta and the senator of Puerto Plata, Ginette Bournigal, according to Nuevo Diario.

Also, the regional director of the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur), Atahualpa Paulino, the municipal mayor, Diómedes Roque García (Roquelito) and the Northern Regional director of the National Police, Jorge Luis Galán Guerrero.
