With an operation to deliver food rations house to house and Christmas vouchers in sectors of Santo Domingo East, began this Friday, one of the main programs that have become a tradition for Dominican families during Christmas and that comes to strengthen the actions of the government in this special time of the year.
This is the “Route of Hope”, a program that, since the beginning of her administration, the director of the Social Assistance Plan of the Presidency, Yadira Henríquez, called to bring happiness and guarantee a dignified Christmas to low-income families throughout the country.
This year, the traditional route, which from the early hours of this Friday toured the sectors of Mongos, Barrio Puerto Rico, La Lata, Los Enganchaos, as well as homes and shelters, will impact more than half a million families with the delivery of 1 million food rations, Christmas bonuses, roof refurbishment of homes, delivery of household goods, among others.
Yadira Henríquez informed that as stated by President Luis Abinader, this State institution will arrive with solutions to each of the sectors throughout the national territory, accompanied by Christmas music and the visit of Santa Claus.
“As every year, our usual route will have the commitment to reach the most needy and continue bringing happiness to families in one of the most beautiful times of the year”, highlighted Yadira, who also pointed out that they will also reach non-profit institutions that house children, the disabled, the elderly, the mentally ill, among others.
With this action, the government headed by President Luis Abinader, plans to impact a total of 2.5 million Dominicans.
