Vice President leads monitoring of Citizen Security

The Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, is currently leading the now customary meeting to follow up on the Citizen Security Plan, together with the country’s main security and oversight authorities.

The meeting is being held in the Officers’ Club Hall of the National Police Palace, where the progress of the government strategies implemented to guarantee the well-being of Dominicans is being evaluated.

Vice PresidentaDuring the meeting, the 36th, they also reviewed the results of the strategies implemented by the joint forces to continue strengthening citizen security.

In the company of the Vice President are the Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos Echavarría, and the Minister of the Interior and Police, Jesús Vásquez Martínez; the director of the National Police, Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, and the president of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), Vice Admiral José Manuel Cabrera Ulloa.

Also, authorities of the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Safety (Digesett), the National System of Emergency Attention and Security 9-1-1, the Intrant, and the Tourism Police (Politur).

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Attorney General and head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Yeni Berenice Reynoso, and a commission of prosecutors.
