Successful participation of the Dominican Republic in tourism fair in Qatar

The Dominican Republic successfully participated in the second edition of the tourism fair of the State of Qatar, which was held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).

Quisqueya had an impressive stand where interactive activities were developed, such as miniature golf courses, handmade cigars, bachata classes, Dominican coffee and chocolate tasting, imitation of a beach, among other attractions that the country has to offer.

The inauguration of the stand was led by the country’s ambassador to the State of Qatar, H.E. George Bahsa Hazim and the director of the Tourism Promotion Office (TPO) Central Asia, Alexandra Streltsova.

The country was recognized by the organizers of the fair, thanking them for their support to the event, as well as for its successful presentation. The Dominican Republic’s pavilion was also one of the most visited thanks to the experiences offered to visitors.

Among the promotional activities carried out by MITUR were a talk to the professional public given by the OPT director on the topic “Unique Marketing Proposal. Dominican Republic case”, as well as the folkloric dance within the framework of the “Global Village Performance” festival.

Members of the diplomatic mission in Qatar remained present during the three days of the fair to provide official information to interested parties. ProDominicana representatives also presented the favorable investment climate for the region.

It was the only stand in the Caribbean and Latin America that was attended by the main government entities to provide the most complete information on the country’s offerings.
