The Minister of Economy, Planning and Development, Pável Isa Contreras, will represent the Dominican delegation that will participate in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Summit that will take place from Monday 18 to Tuesday 19 September at the United Nations headquarters in New York City.
The Summit, held within the framework of the seventy-eighth session of the United Nations General Assembly, will provide information on the progress and challenges in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as high-level political guidance on urgent and transformative actions to achieve the goals.
The Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development serves as the national coordinator of the country’s implementation of the 2030 Agenda, which together with the National Development Strategy (NDS) constitute the country’s main long-term development planning instruments.
Minister Isa Contreras will participate in the opening of the SDG Summit, to be held on Monday, September 18 in the United Nations General Assembly Hall.
