SB receives ISO data security certifications

The Superintendency of Banks (SB) received the certifications on Information Security, Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection System ISO 27001 and Business Continuity Management System ISO 22301, thus endorsing its data protection mechanisms and its internal processes to ensure the normal operation of activities in the event of risk events.

The institution also managed to extend the scope of the ISO 9001 Quality Standard, which it had already obtained in 2022 and ratified in 2023 with the processes of the Registration and Authorizations Department and the User Services and Protection Office (ProUsuario), as well as the Sanctions and Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (PLAFT) departments.

On this occasion, the certification is extended to the supervision processes of risk management in the entities and the registration and supervision of external auditors, carried out by the Risk Monitoring and Regulation departments.

The standardization process was carried out with the endorsement of the Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification (Aenor), which has issued these three certifications. The Superintendent of Banks, Alejandro Fernández, pointed out that this standardization is reflected in the management activities and technological platforms that support the SB’s services to entities and users.
