SkyHigh Dominicana launches specialized training program in civil aeronautics

SkyHigh Dominicana officially launched SkyHigh Academy, a specialized training program in civil aeronautics, in partnership with the Technology and Continuing Education Center (TEP) of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM).

The training offered by SkyHigh Academy will cover diverse areas, such as industrial engineering, finance, technology, administration, marketing and computer science. In addition, specialized programs in soft skills and aviation safety management will be developed.

Through this alliance, SkyHigh Dominicana aspires to become a reference in aviation training, both nationally and internationally, by sharing its knowledge and experience with other countries.

The inauguration event was attended by Belmarys Rodríguez, General Director; Isabel De La Rocha, Academic Director and Marinés Velázquez Crespo, Commercial and Communications Manager of TEP PUCMM, respectively; and on behalf of SkyHigh Dominicana Cesarina Beauchamp, Executive Vice President; Lourdes Nivar, Customer Experience Manager, among others.

Beauchamp expressed satisfaction for the launching of the academy and highlighted the commitment of SkyHigh Dominicana with the personal and professional development of its collaborators and potential professionals.

“SkyHigh Academy has been created by and for you, where innovation, knowledge and skills merge, allowing each collaborator to reach their maximum potential. We promise you an experience that goes beyond the classroom, generating a continuous learning environment that will propel us forward, together,” he said.

“As a Dominican airline, we aspire to train industrial engineers in aeronautical aspects, where they can acquire the technical tools in order to seek optimal solutions for connectivity and time studies,” he emphasized.

He detailed that the training areas are: financial, cost and revenue management (Yield) where they intelligently design strategies or price maps, to measure the profitability of routes and service audits; telematic, mechanical and electrical engineers, where they can acquire skills on the ground for on-time departure of flights, dispatching passengers at the counter, ramp management and possible mechanical technicians, also in other areas such as computer science, administrators, marketers, creative, for the design and Branding strategies and commercial positioning; and for graduates of all faculties, who will have the experience of the processes in an airline area, learning what is behind an airline ticket or airline seat.

In addition, the directive emphasized the importance of the initiative, highlighting the commitment to raise the professional quality of the airline’s employees and the entire aviation community, providing career development opportunities, with scholarship facilities granted by PUCMM to both employees and their children and corporate internships for graduates of different areas, which will allow them to acquire the tools and skills necessary to provide exceptional service in the aviation sector.

Meanwhile, the Commercial and Communications Manager of TEP PUCMM, Marinés Velázquez Crespo, said “what better way to honor our work than with the presentation of the inaugural program of Skyhigh Academy, which we have called: “Leadership Program: Enhancing Managerial and Directive Skills in Civil Aviation”, which is an initiative that seeks to provide the professional collaborators of Skyhigh Dominicana with the tools, knowledge and skills necessary to develop and strengthen their leadership capacity in such a specialized and dynamic environment as the aviation industry”.
