Travel boom at the AILA: more than 500 flights this Easter Week

At least 512 flights, including 28 round-trip charters, have been scheduled by the José Francisco Peña Gómez International Airport of the Americas (AILA) during the current Holy Week, from the United States, Europe and other points abroad.

The Flight Operations Department of Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom) announced that according to preliminary data, an increase in the flow of passengers to and from the Dominican Republic is expected this week.

According to the details offered by Aerodom, the greatest flow of passengers is channeled through JetBlue Airways, followed by United Airlines and Delta Airlines, Spirit Airlines and American Airlines which have regular flights to New York, Atlanta, Boston, Miami and other U.S. cities, according to Listín Diario.

Also Iberia, Air Europa, Air France, Copa Airlines and Venezolana de Aviacion airlines which have regular operations from the AILA to Madrid, Spain; Paris, France and Panama City; Caracas, Venezuela and other destinations of the Caribbean, Central America and South America.

It is recalled that, traditionally during Holy Week, hundreds of Dominicans and tourists come to visit the country to enjoy the hotels, resorts and beaches.
