Grupo Martinón to build the first two hotels in Punta Bergantín

The Martinón Group, with Spanish capital, will be responsible for the construction of the first two hotel properties in the Punta Bergantín tourist development in Puerto Plata.

To make way for the construction of the two hotels, with an estimated investment exceeding US$180 million, it was reported that they are in the design phase and work will begin in the first half of next year 2024.

The development of the properties will become the most important hotel investment in the northern region.

Thus, Grupo Martinón will make it possible to incorporate the hotel property into the new Bergantín destination, for which it has entered into a preliminary discussion with Hyatt Group affiliates to use the Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara brands at the two hotels.

“This investment is a clear sign of support and confidence in what will be the new great destination in the north of the country,” Punta Bergantin’s management said in a statement.

It is recalled that the international promotion and initial investment of Punta Bergantín as a tourist destination is part of the joint effort of the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) and Grupo Reservas (Banreservas), which manage the attraction of initial foreign investment and offer facilities for the development of hotel infrastructures that contribute to national development.

Upon completion, Punta Bergantín is projected to have more than 4,500 hotel rooms, as well as 5,000 residential rooms and a movie studio, along with an academic campus to promote education and innovation in the country.
