Hyatt expands its Sunscape brand in the Dominican Republic

The expansion of the Sunscape Resorts & Spas brand in the Dominican Republic, promoted by the giant Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, is already a fact with the opening of the Sunscape Coco Punta Cana on November 30 and the Sunscape Dominicus La Romana on December 10, 2023.

Both properties will add 1,909 rooms to the country’s lodging offer, as the Sunscape Coco Punta Cana has 1,055 and the Sunscape Dominicus La Romana has 854.

Yania García, sales manager of Sunscape Coco Punta Cana, told arecoa.com that the hotel is currently the chain’s largest property in terms of number of rooms, as it has three zones: family, adults only and regular.

He indicated that the “renovation” process was interesting, as the property was upgraded to Sunscape standards (decoration, colors, style and service) to provide guests with a memorable experience.

He detailed that the quality of service will be similar to the Dreams brand with a more accessible price. “The Sunscape Coco Punta Cana will compete with hotels that are already positioned and therefore we have very high expectations with its opening”.

He said that the gastronomic offer will include 12 options, 10 bars, plus room service and some areas that have been set aside for food trucks.

Regarding the attraction of visitors, García mentioned that they are aligned to work with markets such as Canada, Europe, Latin America and local.

Meanwhile, Indira Santos, sales manager of Sunscape Dominicus La Romana, indicated that the Sunscape Dominicus La Romana was completely restructured 100%, from its restaurants, common areas and rooms, to be up to the standard of quality that characterizes the brand.

He recalled that although the property was not built from scratch, the company has invested in upgrading to place it at the height of the brand’s attributes with great weight on the quality of services.

“Our services and features that carry the Sunscape brand or in general the Hyatt Inclusive Collection brands; that is to say that you will be able to enjoy a totally different experience at the level of service, structure and entertainment, under the quality standards that characterize us,” he said.

He also explained that the hotel offer consists of junior suites and family villas. As for the gastronomic offer, the property has 12 restaurants, 10 of them à la carte, as well as 10 bars throughout the hotel. Also, a water park.

“We have Italian and Mexican restaurants, and we have a new concept which is the Amazonian restaurant or Peruvian-South American gastronomy, a Japanese restaurant, a pizzeria; in other words, a wide gastronomic offer,” he added.

In order to meet customer satisfaction in their services, Santos indicated that the staff of collaborators is approximately 600 to 700.

The details of both properties were offered by the executives during a meeting with travel agencies to present the benefits and attractions of the new properties.
