The Sheraton Santo Domingo hotel is preparing for the growth of the arrival of more tourists to the country, especially to the city of Santo Domingo, by renovating its facilities to maintain the level of satisfaction that has consolidated the loyalty of its clients.
Paula Lama, CEO of Hoteles Nacionales, the company that owns and operates the Sheraton Santo Domingo, said that the country’s strategies to face the global crisis in the sector for the years 2020-2022, have put the country’s tourism offer in the focus of world attention, that is why we in the private sector must take advantage of the moment of success to strengthen that positioning.
He highlighted the Government’s announcement of the start of the construction of the Santo Domingo Convention Center and the progress in the revaluation of the Colonial City, a historical jewel for being the first city to be built in America.
The private sector responds with investments
To these initiatives, he said, the private sector is responding with new investments and in the updating of its establishments and offer, and this is what we are doing at the Sheraton Santo Domingo, which in recent years has occupied first places in the international valuation of hotels in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean.
Lama said that in 2023 hotel occupancy in Santo Domingo was 63%, and at the Sheraton we reached 65.46%, and “we estimate that with the Convention Center and the completion of the restoration of the Colonial City, occupancy in the city can certainly exceed that result, including the new hotels that are sure to open” in the coming years”.
The hotel team brings to FITUR 2024, as its letter of introduction, the renovation of its facilities and the diversification of its complementary offerings.
