Sheraton Santo Domingo to renovate facilities without affecting services

The Sheraton Santo Domingo hotel is renovating its facilities to maintain the level of satisfaction of its clients and with this it is preparing for the growth of the arrival of more tourists to the Dominican Republic and the capital city.

Paula Lama, CEO of Hoteles Nacionales, the company that owns and operates the Sheraton Santo Domingo, said that the country’s strategies to confront the past crisis have put the country’s tourism offer in the focus of world attention, which is why the private sector must take advantage of the moment of success to consolidate the aforementioned positioning.

He expressed that in 2023 hotel occupancy in Santo Domingo was 63%, in the Sheraton we reached 65.46%, and “we estimate that with the Convention Center and the completion of the enhancement of the Colonial City, occupancy in the city can surely exceed that result, including the new hotels that are sure to open” in the coming years”.

For this reason, he highlighted the Government’s announcement of the beginning of the construction of the Santo Domingo Convention Center and the advances in the works for the revaluation of the Colonial City.

He indicated that to the referred initiatives the private sector is responding with new investments and in the updating of its establishments and offer.

“And this is what we are doing at the Sheraton Santo Domingo, which in recent years has occupied first place in the international evaluation of hotels in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean,” he added.

Meanwhile, Cesar A. Oliva, general manager of the Sheraton Santo Domingo, explained that in the second quarter of 2024 the renovation of all the meeting rooms and our great hall will begin without affecting the contracted services and finishing the process in a short time of 45 to 60 days.

He explained that they are focusing their strategy on offering and creating experiences for the group and convention segment, as this is the hotel’s greatest strength, as it allows it to achieve year-over-year growth.

He also reported on the creation of an outdoor terrace complementing it with a different food and beverage offering, with a live music option several days of the week.

“Our overall goal in this 2024 is to continue to be the iconic hotel in Santo Domingo maintaining our friendliness, personalized service, creating new concepts for the overall satisfaction of our guests and being recognized by all those who offer our facilities as an excellent choice for those visiting the city of Santo Domingo,” he detailed.
