Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation to plant more than 2,000 trees in Samaná

The reforestation day, called “Escala Verde” (Green Scale), organized by the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) through the entity’s Planning and Development Department, will plant more than 2,000 trees this Saturday, November 4, in the coastal area of Jackson Beach, near Catey de Samaná.

The plan is to integrate hundreds of volunteers from the institution itself and other government agencies, as well as schools, colleges and non-profit organizations.

The activity will take place in the vicinity of Jackson beach, where species of beach grapes, button mangrove, poplar and red mangrove, which have the potential to act positively in the development and sustainability of the ecosystems of coastal areas, will be planted.

Sarah Estévez, director of Planning and Development of the IDAC, explained that the objective of the event is to plant more than 2,500 trees in the surroundings of Jackson Beach, in the area of influence of the El Catey International Airport, following the social responsibility policy of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation.
