President of Meliá: “It would be a dream to enter the Colonial City”

Gabriel Escarrer, president of Meliá Hoteles Internacional, reiterated the Spanish hotel chain’s interest in continuing to invest in the Dominican Republic, not only in sun and beach destinations where it already has properties, but also in city tourism with a possible investment in the Colonial Zone.

That is why the executive told arecoa.com that “it would definitely be a dream to have a property in the Colonial City; my friend David Collado is aware of the intention, he keeps reminding me and we are working on it to achieve it”.

He indicated that the intentions are there and that the pertinent steps are being taken to materialize, but until the idea is signed on paper there are no concrete details of the project.

Escarrer reiterated that as a hotel company they are delighted with the country and will continue to invest, improve and bet on the quality of the DR’s tourism sector.
