Argentina, Dominican Republic and Mexico to host U.S. 2023 FIFA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers – U.S. 2023 FIFA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers

Following the FIBA Board of Directors’ decision to allocate bubble entitlement in certain areas due to infections, The FIBA Regional Office has confirmed the following three locations for the November window of the USA Qualifying Series for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.

Buenos Aires Group A (Venezuela, Panama, Paraguay and host country Argentina) and B (Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Uruguay).

Group C will be played in Santo Domingo (Bahamas, Canada, Virgin Islands and host country Dominican Republic). It played in the Chihuahua Group (Cuba, Puerto Rico, United States and host country Mexico).

The competition will be held in bubble form to ensure the health and safety of all participants. The most important criteria in the selection of hosts are compliance with health and travel guarantees and FIBA health regulations, testing and restricted entry in a safe environment.

The road to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 runs in bubble form from November 26-29. The top 12 teams from the first round will advance to the second round beginning in August 2022. Teams compete for one of seven spots in the 2023 FIFA Basketball World Cup to be held in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines.
