The National Cybersecurity Center (CNCS) of the Dominican Republic signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in cybersecurity.
The actors are the Ministry of Science, Innovation, Technology and Telecommunications (MICITT) of Costa Rica and another with the National Cybersecurity Center of Panama, which belongs to the Government Innovation Agency.
The agreements, signed in Costa Rica, aim to facilitate bilateral cooperation by exchanging information on cybersecurity policies.
These international agreement initiatives are part of the National Cybersecurity Strategy, aligned with the Digital Agenda 2030 and the National Digital Transformation Strategy.
CNCS executive director, Juan Gabriel Gautreaux, signed the agreements with his counterpart Juan Anria, from Panama, and Costa Rica’s MICITT minister, Paula Bogantes.
After the signing, Gautreaux expressed that these collaborations mark the path towards a future of innovation, development and security in the region’s digital sphere.
“International cooperation in cybersecurity is essential to ensure the protection of our citizens and the integrity of our digital systems, so we must ensure a more secure, reliable and resilient cyberspace, not only in our countries, but regionally and globally,” he said.

Gautreaux said that cybersecurity and digital innovation are fundamental pillars in contemporary society, influencing all aspects of life, from communication to the economy, health and education.
He specified that, in an increasingly interconnected world, nations face unique challenges and opportunities in the area of cyberspace security.
It is therefore understood that the signing of this agreement marks a bold step towards a more secure and prosperous future for countries in the pursuit of a safer, more reliable and resilient cyberspace.
He added that this agreement will not only strengthen their individual capabilities, but also establish a solid foundation for addressing common challenges in cyberspace.
“Our nations recognize the importance of education and training in technology and this agreement also provides for joint initiatives to promote training in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital transformation.”
“CNCS is committed to building knowledge bridges that benefit our youth, professionals and entrepreneurs by driving sustainable economic growth and equity in our societies,” he highlighted.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding took place in the presence of the president of the National Telecommunications Commission (CONATEL), Lorenzo Sauceda Calix. Also the director of Cybersecurity of Costa Rica, Gezer Molina Colomer, and the temporary head of the Office of International and Inter-Institutional Relations of the Telecommunications Regulatory Body in Honduras, Alejandra Rodríguez.
As well, present was the Dominican ambassador to Costa Rica, Mayerlyn Cordero Díaz.
