The Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OGTIC) and Huawei Technologies Dominicana signed a memorandum of understanding to promote innovation and digital transformation initiatives in the country.
Bartolomé Pujals, general director of OGTIC and executive director of the Innovation and Digital Development Cabinet, and Wang Wei, general manager of Huawei Technologies Dominicana, signed the agreement.
During the meeting, Pujals affirmed that the current government administration is working on the creation of a government digital architecture that allows integration, interoperability and interaction with the main solutions in the market, with the objective of guaranteeing technological sovereignty and internal competition in the Dominican State.
“We bridge a major hurdle by offering institutions a wide range of solutions that quickly and reliably ensure the use of cutting-edge technologies in public services,” said Pujals.
Wei thanked the constant support of the government and society during the 14 years of Huawei’s presence in the Dominican Republic, and expressed his desire to continue collaborating in the future. He stressed that the digitally signed agreement is an example of Huawei’s willingness to support the country on its path to full digitization.
