Working group created to promote digital transformation at the UASD

At a meeting of several government entities, a technical working group was created to promote the digital transformation required by the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD).

The executive committee of the Zero Bureaucracy program held a meeting with the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mescyt), Franklin García Fermín, and the rector of the UASD, Editrudis Beltrán, in order to socialize the importance of the program.

Peter Prazmowski, executive director of the National Competitiveness Council and of the Executive Commission, said that both the UASD and the rest of the higher education institutions must assume the digital transformation, which is a public policy of the current Government, and whose goal is to transform all the services of the State.

Meanwhile, Darío Castillo Lugo, Minister of Public Administration, indicated that inserting the UASD within the Zero Bureaucracy program would have a high impact since it concentrates the largest number of university students, thus achieving the main objective of the services and procedures prioritized in the Program, which is to improve the quality of life of citizens.

Mr. Beltrán Crisóstomo, for his part, highlighted the support for this initiative, while considering it necessary to streamline academic procedures and allow graduates to continue their further studies without setbacks.

Likewise, Adagel Grullón, director of the CNC’s Zero Bureaucracy Program, expressed that it is important for the educational sector to transform itself by reducing bureaucracy to the minimum “because in the end what is sought is not only to improve the internal processes of the educational entities, but also for the citizens, so that the processes they request from the State are more efficient”.
