Under the slogan “Samaná, education and competitiveness in a destination”, the Samaná Tourism Cluster (CTS) and the Association of Hotels and Tourism Enterprises of Samaná (AHETSA) announced the holding of its IX Annual Meeting for the Tourism Development of Samaná scheduled for next Monday, November 20, at 10:00 am in the Santa Barbará Hall, Puerto Bahía, Samaná.
In this regard, the president of the Samaná Tourism Cluster , Jesús Durán, said that one of the objectives of the ninth annual meeting is to discuss one of the biggest challenges facing the province of Samaná, which is the training of qualified collaborators to accelerate the development of the destination, because currently most of the companies must hire staff who do not reside in the province.
“For several years we have been working hand in hand with Infotep, through a collaboration agreement, through which training activities are carried out based on the needs of the sector,” he said.
For his part, the president of AHETSA, Juan Bancalari, emphasized that the tourism sector favors the development of the province and proof of this is the increase in hotel occupancy in Samaná.
“We are more than pleased with the results experienced by the tourist movement, which produces a positive impact on the economy of the region, as well as the continued support of the Ministry of Tourism and the central government,” he said.
The meeting will be attended by the Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos; singer-songwriter Ricardo Montaner, from the Montaner Foundation & Carolina Plata, manager of The House Project/ Atrapando Nubes Foundation; Enrique Darwin Caraballo, executive director EDUCA; Ana María Landucci, managing partner Ackermann Colombia.
