The Dominican Republic will increase its connectivity with new flights to Venezuela and to 5 other countries, including the United States, Panama, Colombia, Trinidad and Tobago and France, informed the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) on Wednesday.
Several foreign airlines are reportedly seeking to reach the Dominican Republic, among them Turpial, Laser and Air Caraibes.
Turpial Airlines requested 51 flights on the Valencia (Venezuela)/Punta Cana/Valencia route from July to January, while Laser requested special permission for 154 round-trip flights on the Caracas/La Romana/Caracas route between July and mid-September.
Rutaca will connect Caracas with Panama starting August 20 with two weekly flights (Tuesdays and Sundays), departing from Maiquetia at 11:00 am and arriving at 12:20 noon Panama time, while from Panama it will depart at 1:20 pm and arrive in Caracas at 4:40 pm local time.
