Dominican Republic hosts CAMFEST

Monseñor Nouel, D.R. – The Dominican Republic hosted CAMFEST DR. The event was organized by the Agri-Food Council for Latin America and the Caribbean.

The event was held in the province of Monseñor Nouel, specifically in the municipality of Bonao and was represented by delegations from Colombia, Puerto Rico, Mexico, the United States and the Dominican Republic.

The objective of CAMFEST is to make links for the export and import of products from different countries, as well as to sign agreements for expansion to other countries.

The president for the Agri-Food Council for Latin America and the Caribbean, Jacobo Cabrera Palos, said that “CAMFEST DR is a route through coffee, cocoa and Dominican gastronomy, in addition to enjoying the green of the island and knowing the Dominican extract”.

On the other hand, the ambassador for the Dominican Republic, Yasiris Estévez, thanked the delegations, companies, public institutions and those who supported the initiative to hold this event in the municipality of Bonao.

During the days of the event they visited Monseñor Nouel, Santiago, Puerto Plata Constanza, Maimón, Tamboril and Punta Cana.

The event recognized the trajectory of the former Vice President of the Republic, Margarita Cedeño. For her contributions to the eradication of hunger, malnutrition and support to family agriculture, through her projects carried out from the Cabinet of Social Policies.

They also recognized the communicator and journalist, Ricardo Nieves, and the current vice president Raquel Peña, recognition received by the civil governor of Monseñor Nouel, Adela Tejada.
