The Dominican Republic, through the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), is making progress in the negotiations for the subscription of the Open Skies Agreement with the United States.
These negotiations have no other purpose than to increase air operations between both countries. However, if the agreement is approved, clear regulations will be necessary to guarantee fair competition between airlines.
According to a press release issued by the JAC itself, this agreement also contemplates better air fares, in order to have competitive prices for the Dominican market.
In addition, the agreement encourages the creation of more routes and frequencies, and boosts commercial and tourism exchange between the Dominican Republic and the United States.
