Plus Ultra makes the leap to the DR with two new routes

Plus Ultra today inaugurated a new route between Madrid and Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic). It will have three weekly departures and will be added to another weekly flight to Samaná that will be offered by Soltour (Plus Ultra: “We are starting the summer with great expectations”).

The launching coincides with the start of the tourist season and responds to the recovery of the demand and the trips of the many Dominicans living in Spain.

The inauguration of this connection, which is added to those that the airline already operates to Caracas (Venezuela), Lima (Peru) and Malabo (Equatorial Guinea), Bogota and Cartagena (Colombia), was attended by the company’s top executives and various authorities of the destination country.

The president of Plus Ultra, Fernando García Manso, emphasizes that ”this new route confirms our renewed commitment to long-haul flights to Latin America and is a symptom of the improvement of the economic situation as travel restrictions between countries are relaxed”.

“We expect that the gradual return to normalcy will allow us to continue to open new connections and expand existing ones to meet growing passenger demand and to continue to deliver on our business plans,” he adds.

Plus Ultra announced last June the addition of three aircraft to its fleet, all Airbus 330/200. They join the three A340s it already had. The six aircraft will be used interchangeably on the different routes it operates, depending on demand (Plus Ultra strengthens its fleet with three Airbus 330/200).
