The Dominican film portal “Cine Dominicano”, dedicated to the promotion of the film industry in the Dominican Republic, has been reactivated in honor of its founder, Pericles Mejia. This revival, driven by his son Marc Mejia, seeks to continue the legacy of passion and dedication to the local film industry.
History and evolution of the portal
In 2003-2004, filmmaker Pericles Mejia, along with his son Marc Mejia, launched “Cine Dominicano” as the first portal dedicated exclusively to the Dominican film industry. Pericles’ vision of creating an innovative space to promote Dominican cinema materialized with Marc’s joint work in the creation of web pages.
Since its inception, “Cine Dominicano” became an essential platform for the promotion and coverage of film events in the country, from the first film festivals to the most recent events.
