Jeep Compass

The Jeep Compass is a compact SUV, C-segment, manufactured by Jeep since 2007. It is currently marketed in its second generation, introduced in 2011 and updated in 2021. The Jeep Compass is characterized as an SUV with good off-road capabilities, serving as an exotic alternative to other European models, and placing it in the range above the Jeep Renegade and below the Jeep Cherokee. It is manufactured at the Toluca plant in Mexico.

Among the compact SUVs that aspire to rival the Jeep Compass are other C-segment crossovers in its class, including the Peugeot 3008, the SEAT Ateca, the KIA Sportage and the Nissan Qashqai.

The design of the Jeep Compass is very determined by the front grille, reinterpretation of the classic design of vertical slats of the brand that is used in other models in the catalog. The rugged and country look, slightly softened by the design of the rear lights, highlights the height of his waist, the side ribs or the possibility of having a roof with a contrasting finish. The redesign introduced a new image in the front bumper, with plastic finishes and a new higher position. The turn signals move to the main optical group, which features LED technology. The Compass Trailhawk version relocates the radar and has specific details aimed at a more demanding off-road practice.

The 2022 Jeep Compass measures 4.39 meters long, 1.82 meters wide and 1.64 meters high. It has a wheelbase of 2.64 meters and a trunk with 439 liters of capacity.

The interior of the Jeep Compass features a simple design, plenty of storage space and a higher perceived quality. It focuses attention at first glance on the center console where highlights the all-new infotainment system with touch screen floating design that this diponible in dimensions of 8.4 or 10.1 “(UConnect), slightly higher than that of its predecessor.

As far as dynamics are concerned we must bear in mind that the Jeep Compass has been developed on the platform, duly modified, of the Jeep Renegade. Among its engines we find 1.6 diesel engine with 130 hp and 320 Nm associated with a six-speed manual gearbox and a 1.3 Turbo gasoline engine as a great alternative available in version 130 hp and 270 Nm or 150 hp and 270 Nm. The latter is mated to a seven-speed DDCT automatic transmission, but all options are single front-wheel drive.

To these conventional mechanical Jeep has added the 4Xe plug-in hybrid versions, combining the 1.3 Turbo gasoline engine (130/180 hp and 270 Nm) with an independent electric motor (60 hp and 250 Nm) located on the rear axle to complete the all-wheel drive. The Jeep Compass 4xe is available with 190 or 240 hp and can be approved for an electric range of between 47 and 49 km.
