Miss Earth is one of the main beauty contests worldwide and created in 2001, the contest chooses the most beautiful woman on earth. The winner of this title is the image of the contest and also travels the world promoting environmental campaigns for the protection of the planet. The current representative for the year 2020 is Lindsey Coffey from the United States, who won the first crown for her country.
The Miss Earth contest is one of the four most important beauty pageants in the world, in addition to its environmental objectives, the winner is involved in international environmental projects. During the month that the contest lasts, the organization takes the delegates of the event to selected tourist destinations to show and promote these places to the international spectators of the contest. Participants also take part in tree planting ceremonies, environmental and cultural immersion programs, and sponsor tours and trips.
“I feel very happy and honored to take on such an important challenge as guiding young girls with a great desire to excel, through a platform of beauty pageants, not only to highlight the beauties so that they are trained and can take on any challenge at a professional and personal level, but also to use this platform to promote the goodness that our country, our land, has. I feel honored and I hope to give the best I can give, so that both the spectators of the contest, as well as those who are part of it, are satisfied and eager to continue working for the good of our country,” said Irina Peguero, general producer of the contest.
The contest is directed by Chris Puesan, while Camilo Then and Joyce Roy will be the executive producers. The contest will be held on September 1, at 8:00 pm, at the Anthony Hudson auditorium of the Dominican American Cultural Institute.
“We are the first Dominican beauty pageant to be held in the country during and post COVID-19 pandemic, we have an agreement for the realization of the popular vote with a company based in Finland, called Choicely.com which is the one that develops the Miss Universe voting,” Irina explained.
Among the sponsors and facilitators of the Miss Earth Dominican Republic 2021 pageant are: Artisan Pro, PH Brothers, Functional Fitness Studio, Pointe dance studio, Rocca Bar, Óleobeau, Melonails/Meloskins, Acuario Swimwear, Centro Odontológico Doctores Castellanos, Dollfran Fitwear and Dr. Gabriel Páez (facial plastic surgery) and Dr. Jhonny Guzmán.
