Biviana Riveiro Disla, Executive Director of the Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana), and Francisco Pérez, President of the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Dominican Republic, signed an inter-institutional agreement with the objective of generating new business opportunities for exporters and expanding the capacity to attract FDI from Spanish capital.
Riveiro said “the intention with this agreement is to strengthen trade relations in order to identify opportunities to increase exports and attract Foreign Direct Investment, from and to the Dominican Republic respectively. Through this agreement we are providing a mechanism to establish a continuous and updated flow of information between the Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain in the Dominican Republic and ProDominicana” he added.
Francisco Perez said “a year ago, President Abinader cited Spain as one of his priorities for doing business. Since then, several approaches have been made at the public and private levels to make that vision a reality. The step we are taking today should serve to reinforce them and to promote new possibilities to make the great trade and investment relationship that exists between the two countries grow and translate into job creation and wealth for their citizens. The Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Dominican Republic is the best ally to make this happen”.
Both entities pledged to make available the necessary means to stimulate exports of Spanish capital companies based in the country, to strengthen commercial ties between Spain and the Dominican Republic, and at the same time, to continue promoting the development of international trade through strategic alliances.
