Trade with Brazil is growing

The new president of the Dominican-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (CCDB), Leonel Castellanos, ratified the commitment of the administration he heads to work together with the authorities of both nations, to influence public actions that benefit trade and investment, and to promote cooperation and understanding between the business communities.

After taking office, in a ceremony to open the new facilities of this organization, Castellanos said that trade between the country and Brazil has followed a growing trend reflecting the strength and diversification of bilateral trade relations.

He said that Brazil exported US$55.6 million to the country, while imports of pork alone reached US$6.18 million. He highlighted that Brazil’s direct investment in the Dominican Republic exceeds US$2 billion, especially in key sectors such as energy and tourism.
