Jean Luis Rodríguez, executive director of the Dominican Port Authority (Apordom), informed that the province of Pedernales is preparing to receive next Monday, April 8, the arrival of the second cruise ship through the port of Cabo Rojo.
It is the Nieuw Amsterdan, a Holland America cruise ship, with capacity for up to 2,106 visitors and 929 crew members on board, who will enjoy a package of ecological destinations in the province and the Enriquillo region.
The head of Apordom highlighted the importance of the movement of cruise passengers for the province, as a result of the vision and commitment to the country of President Luis Abinader.
67 cruise ships will arrive with tourists
Likewise, Rodriguez confirmed that this April, Puerto Plata, Samaná, La Romana and the National District will receive hundreds of tourists who will arrive to the Caribbean coasts in 67 high-level cruise ships.
According to the report of the ports made by Apordom, from the first to the thirtieth of April of this year, the terminals Taino Bay, Amber Cove, Sans Souci Tourist 
Terminal and the Catalina Island Anchorage, will receive foreign visitors who will activate the economy of these demarcations.
The reception of the ships began on Monday with the Norwegian Prima, Carnival Venezia, Norwegian Escape, Adevnture Of The Seas; and will continue with Nieuw Stantendam, Liberty Of The Seas, MSC Seascape, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Vista, Caribbean Princess, Explorer Of The Seas, Valiant Lady, Carnival Mardi Gras, Celebrity Apex, MSC Meraviglia, among others.
The data presented correspond to the projected schedule of port and anchorage calls of cruise ships in the RD to be received in April 2024, with the clarifying note that there are some variants that may generate changes in the same, such as changes of route by the cruise line, weather conditions, as well as situations that may decrease or increase the number of calls.
