About the hotel:
The Kimpton Las Mercedes will open its doors to local and foreign tourists on July 1, 2024.
The new hotel, located in Santo Domingo’s Colonial City, is owned by Megeve Investment Office S.A.S., operated by Iberostar Hotels and is the first operational partnership between the Spanish hotel group and Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants.
The property will feature 130 rooms and eight spacious rooftop suites, each with a private balcony. The lodging property is already taking reservations on its website, with stays available from July 15, 2024.
According to Paul Adán, Regional Senior Vice President of Development for Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean for IHG Hotels & Resorts, “With this opening we are expanding Kimpton’s presence in the Caribbean, and Kimpton Las Mercedes will provide a distinct and inspiring experience in this historic destination. The hotel will welcome visitors and locals alike with its refined style, innovative restaurants and bars, and friendly, personalized service, while serving as a gateway for guests to discover all that Santo Domingo has to offer.”
Once open in early summer 2024, Kimpton Las Mercedes will become the fifth Kimpton hotel in the Caribbean and Latin America. The brand currently has 78 hotels open worldwide and 54 projects under development.
