PUERTO PLATA – The cruise ship Norwegian Escape returned this Monday to the modern Taino Bay terminal, bringing on board 4,607 passengers and 1,659 crew members.
The cruise ship Norwegian Escape arrived at the port at 8:15 in the morning. The tourists on board disembarked and went on multiple excursions to enjoy the different attractions of the Bride of the Atlantic.
It is worth mentioning that the aforementioned vessel touched again the destination Puerto Plata, after a prolonged absence of several months, since on the night of Monday, March 14, 2022, it ran aground leaving the local bay.
According to the technical details offered in this regard, the vessel suffered the unexpected grounding when a gust of wind pushed it, stopping on top of a mud bank near some reefs.
At that time, the vessel was maneuvering to leave the channel of the local dock and depart for St. Thomas Island, with 3,233 passengers and 1,618 crew members on board, who were returned by air to Miami (Florida), with all expenses covered.
