In fifth place comes Mauritius (Africa), in sixth place Khao Lak (Thailand), in seventh place Jamaica, in eighth place Santorini (Greece), in ninth place Zanzibar (Tanzania) and in tenth place Venice (Italy).

In another list made by the specialized travel portal TripAdvisor, the DR is also chosen among the most popular destinations in 2024.
The country ranks 16th among the 25 destinations. The description explains that “with a lush interior mixed with caves, Victorian houses that look like chocolate and the tradition of pirates, in addition to 1,440 km of coastline on its island end, highlights the cable car that goes up to the Isabel de Torres hill and the impressive Saona Island”.
He adds that Quisqueya is ideal for families, has the perfect climate and is affordable.
TridAdvisor indicates that Traveller’s Choice Best of the Best award winners are destinations whose hotels, restaurants and coastlines have received a large number of excellent reviews and comments from the community over a 12-month period.
