In April of this year our country received 24,839 French tourists, 1,500 more than in 2019, in prepandemia. This a clear sign of their preference for the Dominican Republic, placing it in third place as an issuing market, says the Minister of Tourism, David Collado.
The figure was known in the framework of the Les Entreprises du Voyege Congress, which was held in Bávaro, from 4 to 9 May, with the participation of more than 400 representatives of the French tourism industry, Minister Collado affirmed that the DR is an example in the recovery of tourism.
“Today the recovery of tourism is complete. This paradise is ready to continue receiving all those French tourists who have us as their favorite long distance destination” said Collado.
The head of the Tourism office added that “we are going to continue betting on this French market, and the fact that all the travel agencies are here, working and enjoying our country, is the greatest reason they can have to recommend the country, so we are delighted”. to be in this activity”.
Collado pointed out that, historically, France has supported tourism in the Dominican Republic, as it is the third largest issuer of tourists.
The Les Entreprises du Voyege Congress brought together more than 400 representatives of the French tourism industry, including tour operators, travel agents, airlines, journalists, insurance agencies, MICE agencies, among others, and was held in Bávaro, in the east of the Caribbean country.
