The Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa, ERD, delivered this Saturday to the General Director of the Armed Forces and National Police Vocational Schools, Brigadier General Jorge Luis Morel De Dios, ERD, seven 2023 Suzuki Swift five-passenger cars.
The brand new vehicles will be used for the practice of driving and handling of light vehicles by the hundreds of students who are being taught in this training program.
The modern cars were handed over during a ceremony held at the institution’s headquarters, in the presence of students, teachers and administrative personnel of the vocational school in the municipality of Santo Domingo Este, in San Isidro.
Brigadier General Morel De Dios, said that, “this type of education not only focuses on teaching technical driving skills, but also instills ethical and moral principles that are essential for a safe and responsible road coexistence”.
“I want to thank the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa, ERD, for the unconditional support given to these vocational schools which, on the instructions of the President of the Republic, Luis Rodolfo Abinader Corona, has been responsible for the adequacy and modernization of vocational schools, so that students have an appropriate environment and equipment for quality technical and practical learning,” emphasized Morel De Dios.
The event was attended by Brigadier General Victor Manuel Del Orbe Frias, ERD, General Director of Education, Training and Military Training of the Army of the RD and Colonel Juan Carlos Estrella Balbuena, ERD, magister, director of the Military Academy “Batalla de Las Carreras” of the Army of the RD.
