President Luis Abinader arrived at the Vatican headquarters for his private audience with Pope Francis, at 9:05 am, (Rome local time), accompanied by First Lady Raquel Arbaje, along with her daughters Esther, Graciela and Adriana.
Also present were the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs José Julio Gómez; the Dominican Ambassador to the Holy See, Luis Montalvo Arzeno; the Director of State Ceremonial, Ambassador Francisco Cantizano; his assistant Mercedes Pichardo and the invited journalists, José Monegro and Roberto Cavada.
President Abinader and his companions were received by the cortege of His Holiness’ gracious men, Monsignor Leonardo Sapienza, regent of the Prefecture of the Pontifical Household, and the head of Protocol, Monsignor Javier Fernández G.
