President Luis Abinader headed this Friday the commemorative acts for the 211th anniversary of the birth of the father of the country, Juan Pablo Duarte, with a civic, military-police parade, which begins the Month of the Homeland.
The parade was in charge of the honor guard regiment of the Ministry of Defense, led by Colonel Pablo Alexander Belén, a graduate of the General Staff. At the end of the ceremony, the President laid a wreath at the bust of the patriot located in the Duarte Park.
Upon his arrival, the President was received with military honors by Colonel Rafael Eugenio Reyes Castillo of the Armed Forces.
Juan Pablo Uribe, president of the Permanent Commission of National Anniversaries, said that the ideology of Juan Pablo Duarte has inspired the Dominicans politically, ideologically and morally and stressed that it is also imitated by President Luis Abinader, “who has fully complied with Duarte’s thought that says, ‘let us work for and for the Homeland’, which is to work for our children and for ourselves”.
Likewise, the mayor of San Francisco de Macorís, Siquio NG de la Rosa and the provincial governor, Ana Xiomara Cortés, expressed their pride in celebrating the 211th anniversary of a man who gave himself for the freedom of the nation.
