Marcell Ozuna delivers sports equipment to children in Boca Chica

The slugger born in that community has been supporting the community for more than a decade.

Baseball player Marcell Ozuna and his wife Genesis de Ozuna, through their foundation Geymar Helping, delivered hundreds of sports equipment to young people and children in the Boca Chica community on Saturday.

The delivery took place at the Geymar Food Truck, and brightened the lives of youngsters between the ages of 12 and 16 who received baseball shoes, jerseys, gloves, and also balls signed by the Atlanta Braves pitcher.

The younger children, between 7-11 years old, also received a gift from the Geymar Helping Foundation, which as every year makes this delivery in the community of Boca Chica, and in other latitudes such as San Pedro de Macoris and San Francisco de Macoris.

On his side, the home run hitter who recently won the Juan Marichal award showed satisfaction and happiness to deliver this aid to young people who like him, at the time, pursue the dream of being a major leaguer.

“This is a token of affection for my boys, that they feel happy and that they can put it to the best use, this makes me feel very happy,” said the designated hitter.

The excitement of being part of this reached the prospects of more than eleven baseball leagues in the community, among them:

Genesis de Ozuna thanked the Braves team for the support through the Atlanta Braves foundation and Donaciones Buckner, as well as her husband Marcell, since with this they have been delivering aid to people in need for 12 years, she added that in November and December they were delivering food rations in different communities near and far away, thanks to the help of friends and relatives of the Geymar Helping foundation.
