UASD is crowned in Rubén Pimentel league master league softball

They won two out of three games against the Villa Juana team.

The team of the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), was crowned champion in the Master-B category of the Rubén Pimentel softball tournament of the National District, in the flat modality and its 33rd version.

They defeated the Villa Juana team in two out of three games in a game held at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center’s Stadium No. 2.

“It was a great series that we dedicate to the rector’s office, professors, employees, friends and supporters of USAD,” exclaimed Federico Matos, representative of the winners.

The university players had the same record in the first in the third game, 8-6, to lift the crown, while the Villajuaneros won the second game 15-11.

Daniel González won the first game and Arismendy Espinal lost; Yuri Hernández triumphed in the second and Eulogio Rivera lost, while in the deciding game González triumphed and Espinal lost.

In the first UASD victory, Raúl Rijo had two hits; Omar Vásquez, Nicolás Moreno, Raúl Vásquez and Randy Rodríguez each had a single.

In the game that won the championship, the most outstanding players were Edwin Sipión with a home run and a single; Raúl Rijo with two runs; Nicolás Moreno with a home run, Omar Vásquez and Albert Brito with a double each.

Matos thanked the support of the rector’s office, the dedication of the players and the support of the fans who followed all the games of the tournament, “until they saw us lift the championship cup”.
