Minister to represent the DR at UNESCO Conference

The Minister of Culture, Milagros Germán, will represent the Dominican Republic, together with a delegation, at the 41st General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to be held from November 9 to 24 in Paris.

Germán will exhaust a broad work agenda within the framework of this event, in which delegations from UNESCO’s 193 member states will participate.

The General Conference, UNESCO’s highest body, meets every two years to determine the organization’s policies, programs and budget.

Upon his arrival in France, he will participate in a working meeting at the offices of the Permanent Delegation of the Dominican Republic to UNESCO.

On Tuesday 9, she will attend the inauguration of the exhibition “Vivas”, which will be part of the celebration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

On the afternoon of Wednesday the 10th, she will address the plenary of the General Conference in which she will present the Dominican Republic’s achievements in the cultural field as well as its plans.

The delegation accompanying the Minister is composed of Jesús Paniagua, Secretary General of the Dominican Commission for UNESCO; Andrés L. Mateo, Permanent Delegate of the Dominican Republic to UNESCO; Andrés Merejo and Rafael Emilio Bello Díaz, who are officials of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Dominican Republic.
