Vice President and Minister of Economy head Development Dialogues

The Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development (MEPyD) held the fourth edition of the Development Dialogues for the three provinces of the Yuma region, in an event headed by Vice President Raquel Peña, Minister Pável Isa Contreras, and the team of the Eastern Regional Planning Office.

The Development Dialogues took place at the Convention Center of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) in Higüey, with the objective of discussing with public, economic and social actors the guidelines and strategic actions identified in the Provincial Dialogues held in La Altagracia, La Romana and El Seibo.

Vice President Peña and Minister Isa Contreras affirmed that the main objective of the government is to improve the quality of life of the people, and therefore all the policies and actions of this administration are oriented to contribute to this purpose.

Peña expressed that in the government program presented by President Luis Abinader, it is clearly stated that the main objective of all public policies implemented by this administration is to raise the quality of life of the people.

“We have achieved this by articulating all the institutions of the Government and working in coordination with each sector of society in a great public-private alliance”, said the Vice President of the Republic.

She maintained that since the first day of this administration, a philosophy of teamwork has been assumed, uniting all political, academic and social efforts to move the Dominican Republic forward.

“We are a government that listens, a government that dialogues permanently and that responds, without delay, to all citizen demands in a prompt manner,” he emphasized.

He pointed out that this vision is the one that guides the different sectorial cabinets that have been formed, as well as the multiple meetings of President Luis Abinader with the different economic and social actors throughout the country.
