Base Security Command holds first cycling tour at San Isidro Air Base

The Base Security Command of the Dominican Republic Air Force (FARD)? held the first mountain bike ride.

More than 50 cyclists rode 30 kilometers along different points of the San Isidro Air Base and perimeter area.

Prior to the ride, Parachutist Colonel Héctor José Martínez Pérez, commander of the Base Security Command, said that the purpose of the activity was to maintain the fraternity between the members of the armed forces and the civilian class in a sporting environment.

He also added that it seeks to create awareness to reduce the levels of environmental pollution through the practice of this sport.

At the end of the sporting event, the cyclists received a medal for reaching the finish line and had the opportunity to participate in a raffle for a bicycle.

The activity was headed by the Commander General of the Dominican Republic Air Force, Major General Pilot Leonel Amilcar Muñoz Noboa.

Also present at the event were Colonel Luis Daniel García Cordero, Director of Sports of the institution; Colonel Pilot Mario Rivas, Director of Public Relations and Military Civic Affairs; Parachutist Colonel Osvaldo W. Montero Mena, Commander of the Special Forces Command.
