Dominican Republic fosters alliances to create jobs in health tourism

The Dominican Health Tourism Association (ADTS) held a working meeting with the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, at the National Palace, according to Arecoa.

The meeting focused on promoting public-private alliances aimed at strengthening quality, regulation, investment, training and technology transfer to boost competitiveness and job creation in the health and medical tourism sector.

The important follow-up meeting took place after President Luis Abinader issued, on December 6, 2021, Decree 787-21, which instructs to elaborate, after conducting the relevant studies, the policies and strategies aimed at the sustainable development of health and wellness tourism, submitting to the Vice President, in her capacity as president of the Health Cabinet, a report containing a survey of the current situation of health and wellness tourism in the Dominican Republic and proposals for its strengthening.
