The Dominican Republic obtained the distinction of being the number one country in the Caribbean and fifth globally in health and wellness activities at the World Wellness Weekend.
This was confirmed by Flavio Acuña, World Wellness ambassador and vice-president of the Ibero-American Association of Wellness and Health Tourism.
Acuña informed that Santo Domingo and Punta Cana were ranked 9th and 10th as the most active cities among 2,300 cities from 150 countries that participated.
He announced that the Body Shop gym chain was the most active in the Caribbean and the world champion award for Rotary clubs went to Rotary clubs in District 4060.
Santuary Hotel was the most active in the Caribbean. The also vice president of the Ibero-American Association of Health and Wellness Tourism commented that the distinction positions the country as one of the most important wellness and health destinations.
